OMAHA (DTN) -- Here are the Top 5 things the DTN Newsroom is tracking for the week of Feb. 9. Watch for coverage of these and other topics through the week on our subscription platforms as well as on www.DTNPF.com.

1. Come see us in Louisville: DTN will have a number of educational sessions going on during this week's National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Kentucky. We're in Room 104C in the South Wing Conference area. Our 2025 Global Commodity Markets and Weather Outlook sessions, featuring the latest DTN Spring and Summer Forecast from Ag Meteorologist John Baranick, followed by our Commodity Markets Outlook from Lead Analyst Rhett Montgomery. Times for those sessions are: 2:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday; 8:30 a.m. EST Thursday and 10 a.m. EST Friday. On Thursday at 10:30 a.m. EST is our Successful Cover Crop Strategies session. A panel of farmers and industry experts, moderated by DTN Ag Policy Editor Chris Clayton, will discuss the latest carbon credit programs and the cover crop and other management strategies that are part of those programs, with a focus on how changing federal funding and priorities might be altering the carbon sequestration scene. NFMS is always a great show, with hundreds of farm-focused businesses featuring their latest products and equipment. So, plan your day around one of more of our educational sessions; we're always glad to see you.

2. WASDE Tuesday: The February USDA World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report hits at 11 a.m. on Feb. 11, with our reporting moments later and updates throughout the day. 3. Winter weather update: Cold air in the Northern Plains will move into the Midwest early in the week, replacing the general warmth from the previous week. That pushes the storm track to the south, but will still clip at least the southern end of the region with precipitation thanks to a couple storms next week. Another system may move through more of the region next weekend. Cold air will move into the Central and Southern Plains. There are increased chances of precipitation. If snow does not fall across enough of an area, the cold air will be a concern for winterkill on wheat.

4. Executive actions: We'll continue to follow the ongoing executive orders, court actions and related drama as the new Trump administration's plans continue to be revealed, as well as the results of various appointments that will have influence in agriculture.

5. Economic reports to watch: Monday we'll have the weekly Grain Inspections report at 10 a.m. Tuesday features the WASDE report at 11 a.m., and Cotton Ginnings report is also out at that time. Wednesday reports begin at 7:30 a.m. with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Core CPI. At 9:30 a.m., EIA's Weekly Petroleum Status including ethanol production and stocks is released. At 11:15 a.m. the Grains World markets and trade FAS and Oilseeds World Markets numbers are released. At 2 p.m. we'll see Wheat Data and Broiler Hatchery. Thursday also starts at 7:30 a.m. with grain export sales, Initial Jobless Claims, Producer Price Index (PPI) and Core PPI. At 10:30 a.m. we'll watch for the Weekly Economic Index, then at 11 a.m. Feed Grains Database and Oilseeds Crop Outlook. At 2 p.m. Wheat and Feed Outlooks and Slaughter Weekly reports are released. Friday we'll watch the 7:20 a.m. release of Import Price Index, Imports and Exports and U.S. Retail Sales figures. At 8:15 a.m. the Industrial Production and Capacity Utilization data is announced, followed by Business Inventories at 9 a.m. At 2 p.m., Farm Numbers and Livestock Operations and Turkey Hatchery reports are released, followed by the 2:30 p.m. CFTC Commitment of Traders report.
